Tower cranes are divided into two types: upper rotating and lower rotating:
1, Upward rotating tower crane: The tower body does not rotate, and the boom and balance arm above the slewing support are fully rotated around the centerline of the tower body through a slewing mechanism. According to usage requirements, it can be divided into operational, fixed, attached, and internal climbing types. The operational tower crane can run along the track, has a large working range, is widely used, and is suitable for multi story building construction; If the crane base is fixed on the track or the tower body is directly fixed on the foundation, it becomes a fixed tower crane with a longer boom; If a fixed tower crane is connected to a building at regular intervals with an attachment rod on the tower body, it is called an attached tower crane. It uses a tower body lifting device to allow the upper rotating part of the crane to increase correspondingly with the height of the building, and is used for high-rise building construction; Installing a crane in a shaft or connected hole such as an elevator shaft, and using a hydraulic cylinder to make the crane climb up along the shaft according to the construction process, is called an internal climbing tower crane. It saves some tower body, has a large service range, does not occupy the construction site, but has certain requirements for the structure of the building.
2, Lower rotating tower crane: The slewing support is installed between the base and the turntable, and all working mechanisms except for the walking mechanism are arranged on the turntable to rotate together. In addition to track type, there are also track type and tire type walking devices with track chassis and tire chassis as walking devices. It has a low center of gravity, can be disassembled and transferred as a whole, is lightweight and flexible, widely used, and is suitable for multi story building construction.
